Eric Schrotenboer Music and Ferocious Films are excited to announce their partnership on the new full length feature movie, “The Frontier Boys”. Filmed in Charlevoix, MI, the sports/adventure story follows four high school best friends and picks up in the middle of a basketball season that is shattered by a tragic drive-by shooting of the team’s biggest star. Gold Addy Award Winner

Eric Schrotenboer Music, along with Sound Post Studios and Grey Matter Group, won a rare gold Addy Award in the catagory of Elements of Advertising-Music Only at the American Advertising Federation West Michigan 2010 Addy Awards. The music was scored for a Compassion International Response Video. The music is an intense and engaging two-piano score with melodic strings and bells. You can see the video by clicking here.

The Voice of the Martyrs

Last week I had the privilege of working on a project with the The Image Group, of Holland, MI., for “The Voice of the Martyrs” ministry. The Voice of the Martyrs is a non-profit, interdenominational Christian organization dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide. It was an awesome project. The project that I got to work on was a film telling a story of persecution in Pakistan. It is a powerful story that was beautifully filmed and edited. The Anatomy Of Hate Film

This fall I had the privilege of working with filmmaker Mike Ramsdell on his full length feature documentary, “The Anatomy of Hate”. It was a very powerful film to be part of and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be able to work with Mike. He was a great director who took a lot of pride in every small detail of his film. Musically it was a unique film to score because we had to capture extreme emotion on both sides of the spectrum as well as use the music to immerse the viewer in many cultures. It was a great challenge that translates into a powerful film.

Here is the synopsis of the film from the Anatomy of Hate website (www.anatomyofhate.com):

The Anatomy of Hate; A Dialogue to Hope reveals the shared narratives found in individual and collective ideologies of hate, and how we as a species can overcome them. For six years the filmmaker worked with unprecedented access to some of the most venomous ideologies and violent conflicts of our time including the White Supremacist movement, Christian Fundamentalism as an anti-gay platform, Muslim Extremism, the Palestinian Intifada, Israeli Settlers and Soldiers, and US Forces in Iraq. By juxtaposing this verite footage with interviews from leading sociological, psychological, and neurological experts, and interspersing stories of redemption told by former “combatants”, the film weaves a tapestry that reveals both the emotional and biological mechanisms which make all of us susceptible to acts and ideologies of hate, and demonstrates how these very same traits make us equally capable of overcoming them.
